Dermal Fillers
Dermal fillers, also known as facial fillers, are highly effective at restoring volume to many areas of the face such as the cheek area, improving jaw definition, softening lines around the mouth or eyes to restore a softer and more youthful appearance. They can also be used to treat the back of the hands; an area we often neglect in our anti ageing skin regime, and to offer subtle improvement to the lips to add volume, shape and definition. This in particular, is an area where a “less is more” approach is key.
Popular areas for fillers include;
- Lip enhancement
- Cheek enhancement
- Filling tear troughs
- Nose reshaping
- Brow shaping/lifting
- Nose to mouth lines
- Naso labial folds
- Chin enhancement
- Static wrinkes/deep creases
- Non surgical facelift
AMP Clinic uses a variety of different FDA approved dermal fillers to achieve safe, long-lasting and natural looking results. The main ingredient is hyaluronic acid which is widely recognized for its safety, hydration and anti-ageing properties. This is a naturally occurring substance found within the skin in abundance in youth and diminishes as we get older. Therefore restoring this non-animal derived substance restores the soft contours to many areas of the face that become affected by volume loss associated with age. Results from these treatments may last from 6 to 12 months.
Does it hurt?
Thanks to the sophistication of the highest quality dermal fillers, discomfort during and after treatment is minimal. Restylane and Radiesse fillers have anaesthetic added to the product. Optional topical aneasthetic cream is available as well but often this is not necessary with the use of a safe and effective device such as the cannula which allows the filler to be placed through a single entry point in the skin as opposed to several.
How safe are dermal fillers?
AMP only uses high quality FDA approved dermal fillers. Minimal bruising, swelling and soreness at the sites of injection may occur and typically resolve within a few days, this may vary with each individual.
Who is unsuitable for treatment with Dermal Fillers?
Women who are pregnant, breast feeding or trying to conceive are not suitable for any cosmetic injectable treatments. Active herpes/coldsores present anywhere on the face are a contraindication to this treatment, which is fully explained during the consultation. A reported prior sensitivity to any of the dermal filler constituents (rare) would also contraindicate treatment. A thorough medical history is performed at the time of consultation prior to any injectable treatment taking place.
